The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is one of the most identifiable pickups you can buy today. The Silverado features a stylish exterior and lots of options to customize it for just about every need. There are several engines to choose from, including a powerful and fuel-efficient Duramax diesel, as well as a potent 6.2-liter V-8. Buyers at the Prescott Valley Chevrolet dealership love the Silverado 1500’s quiet, comfortable interior and long list of modern driver-assist features.
Silverado 1500 Trim Levels
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in eight trim levels: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country. Buyers can get the Silverado in three cab styles and three cargo bed sizes at dealerships like the Prescott Valley Chevrolet dealer. We’ll look at the different trims of the 2020 Silverado 1500 and see what each one brings to the table.
Silverado 1500 Work Truck (WT)
Under the hood of the base WT trim is a 4.3-liter V6 engine that develops 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, joined to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Standard features include air conditioning, 17-inch steel wheels, four-way manually adjustable front seats, and vinyl seats. Parents of younger drivers will appreciate the standard Teen Driver system, which allows limitations to be placed on the Silverado’s top speed and audio volume. Other standard features include a stereo system, an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a USB port. Two option packages are available: the WT Convenience package and the WT Safety package.
Silverado 1500 Custom
The Custom trim comes with power windows and locks, keyless entry, 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, heated outside mirrors, cloth upholstery, cruise control, front tow hooks and a six-speaker audio system. This trim gets an available Infotainment package and a Custom Convenience package.
Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss
Move up to the Custom Trail Boss, and you’ll get standard four-wheel drive. The Custom Trail Boss starts with the features of the Custom trim and adds a blacked-out look, as well as off-road features that include a 2-inch lifted suspension and the Z71 Off Road package. The latter comes with off-road tires, 18-inch black wheels, a locking rear differential, Rancho shocks, hill descent control and skid plates.
Silverado 1500 LT
The LT trim employs a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder powerplant that generates 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The LT includes LED headlights, daytime running lights, a tailgate damper and an 8-inch color touchscreen.
Silverado 1500 RST
The RST trim comes with the features of the LT trim, plus an exclusive street-performance look, body-color trim, 22-inch wheels, in-bed lighting, remote start and a power tailgate.
Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss
Powering the LT Trail Boss trim is a 5.3-liter V8 that puts out 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. This trim starts with the features of the LT and adds the same appearance and off-road features as the Custom Trail Boss.
Silverado 1500 LTZ
Opt for the LTZ trim, and you’ll get amenities like heated front seats, leather upholstery, a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and power-folding and heated mirrors. Other standard features include a trailer brake controller, an upgraded rearview camera and two 120-volt power outlets.
Silverado 1500 High Country
The top-of-the-line High Country trim gets the features of the LTZ trim plus ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, a wireless phone charger, a seven-speaker Bose audio setup, a power-up-and-down tailgate and a spray-on bedliner.
With the 5.3-liter V8, the High Country gets a 10-speed automatic transmission. Optional engines include a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel powerplant that’s good for 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and a 6.2-liter V8 that develops 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines are connected to the 10-speed automatic.
