2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Overview
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT is a carryover of the 2021 Chevy Silverado. GM has kept the outgoing model in dealerships like the Cottonwood Chevrolet dealer in the event supply chain issues create delays with the new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Expect the 2022 Silverado LT to be available until the new 2022 Silverado 1500 is in full swing at Chevrolet dealerships.
The Chevy Silverado 1500 LT is available in eight trim levels: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country. There are several configurations on offer. Buyers can choose between regular, extended, and four-door crew cabs with three bed lengths: short, medium and long. Properly equipped, the 2022 Silverado 1500 LT can tow more than 13,000 pounds.
According to the Cottonwood Chevy dealer, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT gets a choice of four different engines:
- 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating 310 hp and 348 lb-ft, mated to an eight-speed automatic
- 5.3-liter V8 putting out 355 hp and 385 lb-ft, connected to a six-, eight- or 10-speed automatic
- 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six developing 277 hp and 460 lb-ft, linked to a 10-speed automatic
- 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, matched to a 10-speed automatic
Standard features for the base 2022 Silverado LT WT trim include the 2.7-liter turbo-four powerplant, 17-inch painted steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a 40/20/40 split folding bench seat, and a 7-inch touchscreen. Also standard are 12 cargo tie-downs, and CornerStep in the rear bumper.
You’ll get more features as you move up to the higher trim levels. The range-topping High Country trim comes with the 5.3-liter V8, 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, high-intensity headlights, a power-operated tailgate, chrome assist steps, and a spray-on bed liner. The infotainment system gets an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation. The High Country also comes with a Bose premium stereo system.
The Silverado 1500 LT’s available towing camera system allows drivers to view up to 15 different camera positions, including the sides of the truck, the trailer connection, from the back of the cab, from the back of the trailer, and more. Drivers can even keep track of the load via a camera mounted in the trailer. A camera view that makes the trailer “disappear” virtually provides the driver with a clear view of the road behind.
An available Trailering Package comes with a trailering hitch platform, a 2-inch receiver, a four-pin connector, an automatic locking rear differential, and a seven-wire harness with a seven-way sealed connector. The optional Max Trailering Package features upgraded rear springs, modified shock tuning, and more. For safer towing, there are available tow mirrors.
Buyers can also opt for the innovative Multi-Pro tailgate, called the “Multi-Flex” tailgate on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This tailgate features several hinged areas that can form six different configurations, including a load stopper, a step, and a work surface.
